Happy birthday, Baby Jon!

It was supposed to be a regular check-up on the morning of Nov 14, 2009. The expected due date was two weeks away. However, the doctor told Karen she's ready to deliver and she should be admitted immediately. She was like, "What? I haven't washed my hair!"

Karen was wheeled to the delivery room (due to hospital policy, she was not allowed to walk there). I went home to pick up Karen's stuff and rushed back to join her.

By 4.50pm, our baby boy was delivered. The first time we set eyes on baby Jon, he opened one eye to look at us. The light in the room was too bright for him.

The midwife showed us how to breast feed the baby in the delivery room itself. To our surprised, baby Jon was already a pro at sucking.

We were then transferred to the ward while the baby was taken to the nursery for the nurses to clean him up and do whatever necessary.

Few hours later, the baby was sent to our room, looking clean but sleeping. My parents came over, followed by Mei Ling, Jeffrey and Siew Lian then Esther and family. Everyone is so excited over baby Jon.
